Dear Parents, Students and Community Members,

It is my pleasure to return for the third year at Arkansas Elementary School.  I will continue working in developing a school where children are offered a safe learning environment that allows them to flourish socially, emotionally and academically throughout the school year.

This last school year, with the support of teachers, parents, community and students, I accomplished my first Principal’s goal of moving Arkansas Elementary School towards the twenty-first century education by furnishing each classroom with Promethean boards.  In addition, we started buying classroom netbooks.  The netbooks are similar to mini-laptops and students love working and interacting with the cyber world.

I will continue working with teachers and staff to provide learning opportunities before and after school.  We will also increase our capacity to meet the needs of our diverse student body at each individual level.

According to research, the success of students at school is linked to the level of parent and volunteer engagement in the academic and emotional development of the children during the school years.  With this information in mind, I encourage parents and community members to offer their time to support us by volunteering for an hour or more to learn with us as we support our students.

I am looking forward to seeing you again for an incredible and productive year.

Sincerely,

Dr. Morales
